Wilma Ann Foster Obituary

Wilma Ann Foster was born to William Foster, Sr. and Sadie Mae Alcorn Foster on April 16, 1963 in Brinkley, Arkansas.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Biscoe, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor Jake Webb.  Wilma was a faithful servant.  She remained there for the duration of her tenure under the leadership of Pastor Lionel Jones.

Wilma received her education in the DeValls Bluff School System in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas.  She later received a degree in Social Work from Shorter College in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was a hard and tireless worker.  Her work history consisted of Farris Fashions, Victorian Gardens, Cardinal Health, Des Arc Nursing Home, Premier Nursing Home, and the Ronald McDonald House.  Out of all the jobs that Wilma had worked, she found her calling as the House Operations Manager of the Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She loved her job, her co-workers, and the many families that she received in as guest of the house.  Working at the Ronald McDonald House gave Wilma the opportunity to do what she loved most, which was to help, uplift, and to encourage all the families that she met.

Wilma was diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer in August of 2020.  She underwent Chemotherapy and traveled to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for research.  After her diagnosis, she made the decision to live the remaining years of her life to the fullest.  Wilma kept that promise to herself.  She attended church, every charity event, party, concert, casino trip, dinner, and outings with friends and family that she could attend.  She never stopped living, even during times when her body was in pain.  Wilma marched on with that beautiful and contagious smile on her face.  Her light never faded.

On Friday, July 29, 2022 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Wilma peacefully departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest at the CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her daughter:  Aliyah D. Brown; her father:  William Foster, Sr.; her twin brother:  William (Bug) Foster, Jr.; her brother-in-law:  Harvey Little, Sr.; and her grandparents:  Ed and Katie Foster; and Emmanuel and Sadie Alcorn.

Wilma leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother:  Sadie Mae Foster of Biscoe, Arkansas; one (1) sister:  Carolyn Little of Biscoe, Arkansas; two (2) brothers:  Steve (Valerie) Foster of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas; and Carl Wright of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and co-workers.  She also leaves to cherish her memories a special friend:  Charles Allen (Boo) of Beulah, Arkansas.
