Sylvester Young was born on July 25, 1957 to the late Matthew and Mary Young of Turner, Arkansas where he resided.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Shelby Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas.
Sylvester departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Matthew Young and Mary Adams; eight (8) sisters: Dorothy Gilcrest; Ethel Young Davis; Julie Young; Clenestine Young; Martha Young; Joyce Young; Hattie Wallace; and Gloria Young; and four (4) brothers: Edward C. Young; Hanson Young; Frankie Young; and Henry Young.
Sylvester leaves to cherish his memories three (3) daughters: Velashia (Arnell) Craig of Marvell, Arkansas; Javon Young of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Shavon Young of Little Rock, Arkansas; one (1) son: Sylvester Young, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas; two (2) grandchildren: Joy Craig of Marvell, Arkansas; and Jatavis Craig of Marvell, Arkansas; two (2) sisters: Veria Young of Clarendon, Arkansas; and Mary Lou Wesley of Conway, Arkansas; one (1) special friend: Annett Bennett; one (1) special niece: Teresa Young of Turner, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
