Ruby Jean White was born in Marvell, Arkansas to the late Epluribus, Sr. and Christine Speaks on November 19,1959. She was educated in the Marvell School District in Marvell, Arkansas and was a graduate of the Class of 1978.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Fountain Head Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas. Ruby was employed with the Belleville Shoe South, Inc. company located in Dewitt, Arkansas for sixteen (16) years.
Ruby loved her community in Marvell and always supported any activities that enriched people and their lives. Ruby had a love for gardening and enjoyed the beauty of plants and flowers. She passed away on July 09, 2022 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Her life and legacy will forever be cherished by her husband of forty-six (46) years: Ronald White, Sr. of Marvell, Arkansas; four (4) sons: Angelo Cortez White of Marvell, Arkansas; Abner White (Crystal) of Chicago, Illinois; Armando White (Andrea Nicole) of Marvell, Arkansas; and Ronald White, Jr. of Marvell, Arkansas. Ruby raised two (2) of her twelve (12) grandchildren: a granddaughter, Keandrea White of Marvell, Arkansas; and a grandson: Xavier White of Chicago, Illinois; and four (4) great-grandchildren; six (6) sisters: Faye Jean Speaks Regulus of El Mirage, Arizona; Gwendolyn Trujillo of Cincinnati, Ohio; Darlene Speaks Bease of Warner Robins, Georgia; Mary Cox (Ernest) of Marvell, Arkansas; Bobbie Jean Chestnut-Dailey (Roger) of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Denetra Williams of Marvell, Arkansas; six (6) brothers: Eric Speaks (Angela) of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; Prophet Dale Speaks (Salena) of Duncanville, Texas; Roy Chesnut (Sharon) of Chicago, Illinois; Herschel Chestnut (Shirley) of Little Rock, Arkansas; Marvin Chestnut (Tijuana) of Dallas, Texas; and AL Williams of Frisco, Texas; four (4) sisters-in-law: Mattie Garden of Chicago, Illinois; O'Retta Lams of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Bernetta White of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Jeanette White of Chicago, Illinois; one (1) aunt and uncle: Doris Jackson (Ezekiel) of Little Rock, Arkansas; a special niece: Tamara "Shenee" Waters of Little Rock, Arkansas; special cousins: Lillie McClain of Bryant, Arkansas; Shirley Cook of Gary, Indiana; and Barbara Neely of Boiling Brook, Illinois; a special friend: Earnestine "Stine" Banks of Marvell, Arkansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by four (4) brothers: Epluribus "Ewing" Speaks, Jr.; Charles Chestnut; James Chestnut; and Andrew Chestnut; one (1) sister: Thelma Chestnut Palmer; and Ruby's beloved pet cat she called "Missie".
