Rube Day was born October 12, 1937 to Shufford and James Anna Day in Coffee Creek, AR. Rube (Big Boy) confessed Jesus Christ as his savoir at an early age. He was a member of Mt. Moriah M. B. Church for many years. He later became a member of Mt. Olive M. B. Church in Santuck, AR. where he served as an usher and a deacon until he moved to Conway, AR. While living in Conway, he attended The Church Alive Assembly of God until his health declined.
Rube loved to farm and plant gardens. He raised hogs, cattle, and chickens. He was employed with D & L in Mariana, AR; Helena Port Terminal in Helena, AR; Faust Band Sawmill in West Helena, AR.
Rube was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Day; his daughter, Mary Albert; his granddaughter, Miranda Carruth; his parents, Shufford and James Anna Day; his brothers: Asbury Day, Frank Day, Ruben Day, and Addison Day; his sisters: Alma Valley, Julie Watson, Mae Jane Day, Selina Carter, and Mandy Pigee.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Ruben (Renita) Day of Little Rock, AR; Shufford (Kathy) Day of Okolona, AR; Ron (Wanda) Day of Conway, AR; Roosevelt (Wynola) Day of Little Rock, AR and Jamarcus Day of Searcy, AR; his daughter: Rita (Demarkco) Stiger of Conway, AR; his son in law: Terry Albert of St. Paul, MN; his sister: Mamie White of Lewisville, TX; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 brother in laws; 6 sister in laws; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
