Otis Lee Griffin Obituary

Otis Lee Griffin was born on July 03, 1968 to the late Eula V. Gines and the late John Lee Griffin.

He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend R.D. McCoy and was baptized in Marvell, Arkansas.

Otis was a loving and fun brother, a fun and funny uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, cousin, and friend.  He brought so much laughter to so many near and far. 

He graduated from Marvell High School in 1988.  Upon graduation, Otis later moved to Dallas, Texas.

Otis became a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in 1992 until 1996.

He worked as a Food Service Manager until he became ill.

On March 24, 2024 with his family by his side, Otis was called home to be with the Lord at the Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Preceding him in death was his mother:  Eula V. Gines; his father:  John L. Griffin, Sr.; his paternal and maternal grandparents:  Isiah and Irene Banks; three (3) brothers:  Eugene Gines, Sr.; Bruce Griffin; and John Griffin, Jr.; two (2) sisters:  Ernestine Gines and Margaret Anderson; five (5) nephews:  Cornelius Gines, III; Cornell Gines; Robert Redmon; Cedric (CJ) Wilson; and Eugene Gines, II; one (1) great-niece:  Y’nis Gines-Bryant; and one (1) great-nephew:  Deisun Gines-Raymond.

Those left to mourn his passing, but cherish his loving and fun memories are three (3) sisters:  Willie Ann Hughes of Dallas, Texas; Bettie Gines of DeWitt, Arkansas; and Ulisa (Roger) Brewster of West Helena, Arkansas; a niece/sister:  Tracey (Stacey) Gipson of Mesquite, Texas; five (5) brothers:  Cornelius (Ellen) Gines of Longview, Texas; Isiah (Bertha) Gines of Frisco, Texas; Londale Gines of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; Ulysses Gines of Mesquite, Texas; and Johnny (Lisa) Griffin of Huntsville, Alabama; one (1) great-aunt:  Earnestine Williams of Jacksonville, Arkansas; his neighbor of thirteen (13) years:  Katie Harris; his barber of twenty (20) years:  Brandon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
