Mary Jane Albert was born on August 24, 1968 in Marvell, Arkansas to Rube and Ora Jean Day. She was the second child of seven children. Mary received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church until she left home and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mary graduated from Marvell High School in 1986. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Gerontology in 1997. While attending UAPB, she worked as a Scrub Technician at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree, she returned to Marvell, Arkansas and worked as a Parent Coordinator for the Marvell School District until 1999.
Out of a previous marriage, three (3) children were born: Miranda Carruth, Laxavier Carruth, and Miriah Carruth. In 1999, Mary and Terry met, married, and relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota.
While living in St. Paul, Mary worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She later continued to use her skills and training by taking a job at Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills.
In 2003, Mary opened her own childcare and named it, “In A Child’s World.” There she served her community and families for eighteen (18) years. Among her many talents and gifts, she was known to be a basketball coach, childcare provider, mentor, friend, and prayer partner to those that she met.
Mary recently received her Bachelor's Degree in Theology from St. Paul Progressive Baptist Church Bible Institute. She was about to enter into her calling as a Deacon.
Preceding her in death was her mother: Ora Jean Day; and her daughter: Miranda Carruth.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband: Terry Albert; her sons: Laxavier Carruth; and Corey Albert; her daughters: Miriah Carruth; Terri Albert; and Megan Albert; her father: Rube Day; her siblings: Ruben Day (Renita); Shufford Day (Kathy); Ronnach Day (Wanda); Roosevelt Day (Wynola); Rita Stiger (DeMarkco); and Jamarcus Day; her grandchildren: Cameron Sims; Tristan Fluker; Malana Booth; MaKenzie Simpson; Landen Coleman; Kaydence Albert; and Kendall Albert; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
Mary’s sweet spirit and unconditional love will be missed by all whose lives she touched, encountered, and embraced.
