Mary Hunter Davis was born on December 21, 1958 in Helena, Arkansas to Mack Williams and the late Mable Jones.
She received her early education from the Marvell School District and later graduated from East St. Louis High School. Mary furthered her education and received her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Phillips County Community College in Helena, Arkansas.
Mary’s first job was working in a Dental Office as a Dental Assistant, where she assisted the dentist in performing a dental procedure on Jackie Joyner Kersey. She later moved from East St. Louis, Illinois back to Marvell, Arkansas. By her early 30’s, Mary graduated Nursing School becoming a Registered Nurse. She also worked for the State of Arkansas for numerous years at the Arkansas Department of Health.
In her spare time, Mary loved dancing, cooking, fishing, sight-seeing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary confessed a life in Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas. She later joined Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena, Arkansas. She loved going to church and served faithfully with excitement and discipline until God called her home.
Mary passed from this earthly life to an eternal life with Christ on Thursday, November 09, 2023 at the Helena Regional Medical Center in Helena, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Mable (Willie) Jones; three (3) sisters: Shirley Glen, Catherine Jones, and Annette Jones; and two (2) brothers: Troy (Patricia) Williams and Willie Jones, Jr.
Mary leaves to mourn her passing, yet cherish her sweet memories her husband: Walter Lee Davis of Marvell, Arkansas; her son: Charles Edward (Katrina) Hunter, III of Little Rock, Arkansas; her stepson: Michael Davis of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; her stepdaughter: Gina Davis-Oliver of Olive Branch, Mississippi; her father: Mack (Johnella) Williams of Chicago, Illinois; three (3) sisters: Sherry (Arthur) Hughes of West Helena, Arkansas; Gayle (Glenn) Keaton of Conway, Arkansas; and Katrina Jones of Conway, Arkansas; six (6) grandchildren: Ariel Nelson of Russellville, Arkansas; Jeremy Hunter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Madison Jones of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Majck Hunter of Little Rock, Arkansas; Monquette Oliver, II of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and Tiana Davis of West Helena, Arkansas; two (2) uncles: James Wilborn of East St. Louis, Illinois; and Lee Wilborn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two (2) aunts: Clemetine (Ervin) Wilborn of Marvell, Arkansas; and Doris (Jimmy) Wilborn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
