Marvin Nunn was born on May 31, 1946 in Marvell, Arkansas to Benny J. and Bertha Mae Nunn.
Marvin was converted and baptized at an early age at the Old Mount Everett Baptist Church under Pastor Reverend T.C. Williams. His current membership was Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Dr. James E. Mackey.
He departed this life early Sunday morning, October 03, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny J. Nunn; one (1) brother, Johnny Lee McDonald, and one (1) son, Marvin Nunn, Jr.
Marvin was a talented, hard-working, young man who loved his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He especially looked forward to the deer seasons.
Marvin was a retired Arkansas State Trooper of which he served more than twenty-five (25) years. He was a former City Police before moving from West Helena, Arkansas.
He was educated in the Marvell School District and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Thereafter, he was drafted to the United States Army in January of 1967 and received his training at Fort Polk, Louisiana and Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Marvin served in many leadership positions during his life’s walk. He was honored to escort Muhammad Ali as the great boxer made visits to Arkansas.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife: Katie Whitaker Nunn of their home in Jacksonville, Arkansas; six (6) daughters: Valerie Nunn Brown; Keshia (Andre) Valley; Quiania Nunn; Schlundrya (Alvin) Scott; Lawlizzthesia Tolliver; and Marguerite (Rick) Caracciolo; his daughter-in-law: Jackie Nash Nunn; one (1) son: Tracy (Ruth) Tolliver; his mother: Bertha Mae Nunn; two (2) brothers: Jerome (Gloria) Nunn; and Howard (Dauphine) Nunn; five (5) sisters: Vivian Nunn; Melrose Davis; Eleen (James) Mackey; Berthena Nunn; and Glenda (Donald) Razzano; thirteen (13) grandchildren; ten (10) great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
