Larry Darnell Davis was born May 20, 1945 in Turner, Arkansas to the late Otto and Emma Lou Davis.
Larry accepted Christ at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in Postelle under the leadership of the late Reverend Calvin Jackson.
On Monday, May 22, 2023, God saw the load was getting heavy, and the hills were harder to climb. He gently whispered, “Peace Be Thine,” and life’s curtain closed for Larry at the Helena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. He left a void in our lives that will never be filled.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Otto and Emma Lou Davis; three (3) sisters: Clara Smith, Myrtle Nesby, and Travistene Carruth; and six (6) brothers: Rudolph Davis, Winfred Davis, Joe Davis, Wallace Davis, Charlie Davis, and Willie Lewis Davis.
Fond and loving memories are left with his loving companion: Barbara Hurd of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; his children: Emily Evone Willis of West Helena, Arkansas; Patricia Davis of West Helena, Arkansas; Polly Willis (James) Bailey of Kansas City; Ronda (Upton) Hunter of Little Rock, Arkansas; Takela Gardner of Bryant, Arkansas; Larry (Longhead) Davis, Jr. of West Helena, Arkansas; Larry (Irene) Davis of West Helena, Arkansas; Marcus (Cherise) Davis of West Helena, Arkansas; Parish (Shirley) Henderson of Stuttgart, Arkansas; and Antonio (Alicia) Willis of West Helena, Arkansas; a special niece/sister: Carolyn (Harvey) Jacobs of Richardson, Texas; three (3) sisters-in-law: Melglory Davis, Gloria Davis, and Marion Davis; and a special family friend: Nykael Willis.
Larry also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
