Obituary

Ellene Johnson Holloway was born on May 21, 1915 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to the late Henry Johnson and Elizabeth Brown.
 
She received her education at Biscoe High School in Biscoe, Arkansas and later studied to become a Mid-Wife.
 
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas.  She remained a faithful member until her passing.  She was an Eastern Star, Deaconness, and served on the Mother's Board of the church.
 
Ellene was united in Holy Matrimony to Louis Carl Holloway on May 12, 1934.  To this union, four (4) children were born; two (2) sons and two (2) daughters.
 
Throughout her lifetime, Ellene wore many hats.  In her spare time, you could find her cooking (from scratch), quilting handmade blankets, fishing, planting flowers in the yard, or helping her husband in the garden.  Wherever you needed her to be or come, she was always there and would travel with the children.  She traveled to Texas, Tennessee, St. Louis, Colorado, Indiana, DeWitt, Pine Bluff, and Forrest City to see her family.  
 
She was well known throughout the community and had a love for children and cared for them many times in her home.  You could always find children from the community in her yard playing day and night.
 
Ellene transitioned from mortal to immortality on Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at her daughter's home at the age of 105.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents:  Henry and Elizabeth Johnson; her husband of 74 years:  Louis Carl (L.C.) Holloway; one (1) son:  Don Louis Holloway; her grandmothers:  Fannie Mae Stidham and Julia Thomas; one (1) granddaughter:  Dionne Holloway; one (1) sister:  Audrey Neal; two (2) brothers:  Oza Brown and Billy Brown; three (3) aunts:  Delores Carter, Emma Jean Guy, and Fannie Mae Broach; and four (4) uncles:  Raymond Stidham, Milo Stidham, Ted Stidham, and Julius Stidham.
 
Ellene leaves to cherish her beautiful memories one (1) son:   James Lavonne (Marsha) Holloway of Gary, Indiana; two (2) daughters:  Carolyn Ann Holloway of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and Beverly (Charles) Holloway-Howard of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one (1) daughter-in-law:  Helen Ponds Holloway of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas; one (1) brother-in-law:  Curtis (Judy) Holloway of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eleven (11) grandchildren:  Andre (Kay) Holloway of Clearwater, Florida; Eylorna (Kenny) Bones of White Hall, Arkansas; Christopher (Yolanda) Graves of Texarkana, Arkansas; Don (Shelley) Holloway of Orlando, Florida; Gilecia (Tony) Pillow of Cedar Hill, Texas; Sonya Roaf of White Hall, Arkansas; Scott Roaf of Bryant, Arkansas; Gerard Holloway of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas; Rai'Mundo Holloway of Little Rock, Arkansas; LaDonna (Tony) Oates of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Brittany Howard of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; seventeen (17) great-grandchildren:  Andre Holloway, Jr. of Clearwater, Florida; Andreona Holloway of Clearwater, Florida; Marika (Christopher) Curengton of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Kyler Smith of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Ryan Graves of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Bradley Graves of Fayetteville, Arkansas; DonVyair Young of Kokomo, Indiana; Alyssa Pillow of Cedar Hill, Texas; Ayden Pillow of Cedar Hill, Texas; Chayse Pillow of Cedar Hill, Texas; Kennedy Iverson of White Hall, Arkansas; Layton Oates of Little Rock, Arkansas; Kayden Curengton of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Dre Humphrey of Stuttgart, Arkansas; David Hall of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Katelyn Hall of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and De'Jon Thomas of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and four (4) great-great grandchildren:  Jelaia Holloway of Clearwater, Florida; Camilla Holloway of Clearwater, Florida; Elle Holloway of Clearwater, Florida; and Zuri Holloway of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three (3) nieces:  Sharon Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri; Patricia White of St. Louis, Missouri; and Mae Helen Weaver of St. Louis, Missouri; three (3) nephews:  Carl Johnson of Los Angeles, California; Richard Brown of Omaha, Nebraska; and Nicholas Brown of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
