Dorothy Mae Brewer was born on March 06, 1928 to the late John Bledsoe and Gertrude Granshaw Bledsoe in Conway, Arkansas.
She accepted Christ at an early age, and attended Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church - Upper Hill in Beulah, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend B.W. Woody and Reverend Braggs.
Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to Ulysses Elton Brewer on October 27, 1945.
She moved from Arkansas to Illinois in 2011 and from Illinois to Texas in July 2020.
Dorothy enjoyed fishing, sewing, and cooking for her family. She also worked as a farmer, at a shirt factory, as a home healthcare aide, and as a meat smoker at Craig’s Barbeque.
Dorothy passed peacefully from this earthly life on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. at her home in New Boston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ulysses Elton Brewer; one (1) daughter: Clara Hampton; four (4) sisters: Evelena Morgan, Hazel Hooks, Lucy Williams, and Lula Dancy; two (2) brothers: Nathaniel Bledsoe and Booker T. Bledsoe; and seven (7) grandchildren: David Ewing, Terry Lee Palton, Johnny Orlando Window, Jonathan Day, Edward Ewing, Jr., Robert Ray Palton, and Willie Hampton.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her passing, but cherish her precious memories two (2) daughters: Irene Day of Kansas City, Missouri; and Threeaster Brewer of New Boston, Texas; three (3) sons: Raymond (Ruthie) Brewer of Hazel Crest, Illinois; Columbus Brewer of Joliet, Illinois; and Spencer (Betty) Brewer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; thirty-two (32) grandchildren; ninety-two (92) great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
