Bertrand Olander White, Jr. was born on June 26, 1961 in Marvell, Arkansas to Bertrand Sr. and Mamie White. He was raised along with seven other siblings. As a young man, he graduated from Marvell High School, then attended Phillips County Community College. He also decided to start reading God's word to have a well-rounded education. More importantly, it provided guidance for his life. He realized the benefits in being educated by God's word and knew he had made the right decision.
However, he began to notice...several years later, that his health struggles were about to put him to the test. Test it was, but with the support of family and friends, it made it somewhat easier and this helped him to never forget about the hope he found.
Bert is what we called him throughout his life. He was good at basketball, and his interest in sports helped others in his family to enjoy watching and participating in sports. A couple of his hobbies were taking professional pictures and creating music. He also enjoyed singing and playing music on the keyboard, something inherited by his nephew, David Jr., who also looks like his Uncle Bert. Skate boarding came along, and David Jr. got quite good at it, something Uncle Bert must not try, if he wanted to keep all his teeth among other things too.
Right up to his death, he proved to be Bert, and he was truly a personality we will not forget soon.
In addition to his mother, Bertrand Jr. is survived by eight siblings: Charles, Vivian (both by Myrtle, the first marriage of Bertrand Sr.), Mamie, Marylene, Jessie, Debra, David, and Sabrina; two nephews: Demetrius and his wife, LaKeysha; and David Jr. and his wife, Jackie; one niece: Alyssa; great nieces and great nephews; and many cousins and friends. Bertrand Sr., Buford (son of Myrtle known as Red), Eric, and Michael White preceded him in death.
